ITINERARY IN DETAIL
Day 01 Arrive Delhi
Arrival at the airport in Delhi, you will be met by our local representative and taken to your hotel.
He will hand over your vouchers and airline tickets and review the details of your trip. You will then have time to rest up from your long flight. Later our guide will meet you at the hotel and take you on a tour of New Delhi. The city was designed and built by the British in the 1920s and displays well-composed and spacious streets under the shade of beautiful trees and imposing government buildings. You will also see Humayun's Tomb, which was built by the wife of Mughal Emperor Humayun in the mid 16th century. This red sandstone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal and one of the best examples of Mughal architecture.
Day 02 & 03 Old and New Delhi
you will explore Old and New Delhi with the company of your guide. you will visit the Red Fort, Jama Masjid mosque, with its marble domes and splendid minarets, Raj Ghat, the Ashoka Pillar and Chandni Chowk Bazaar, where craftsmen sell their wares.
DAY 04 Delhi – Agra
Today you will travel to Agra. Agra, with its laid-back life style and its immense wealth of architecture, handicrafts and jewellery, is among the most remarkable cities in the world. Your guide will meet you at your hotel for the visit of the Taj Mahal, the most perfect architectural monument in the world, erected by Shah Jahan in memory of his favourite wife, Queen Mumtaz Mahal. Later, you will see the impressive Fort at Agra.
DAY 05 Agra – Fatehpur Sikri – Jaipur
This morning you will be picked up at the hotel for the drive to Ranthambore. Enroute you will stop to visit the beautiful walled city of Fatehpur Sikri, built to commemorate the birth of Akbar’s son. The complex was completed in 1574 but abandoned only fourteen years later. Of particular interest are the red stone mosques, courtyards and the palace where Akbar reputedly played chess using slave girls as pawns. Following the visit your drive continues on to Jaipur
DAY 06 Jaipur
Take an early morning ride by elephant-back to the ramparts of Amber Fort, a spectacular fortress that protects a complex of palaces, temples and exquisite marble and mirror halls and apartments. The “pink city” of Jaipur is one of India's most fascinating cities. There you will also see the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds), a high and intricately carved wall behind which women of the court were sequestered while watching processions. You will visit Jantar Mantar (Observatory) and the City Palace, which contains an excellent collection of Rajasthani costumes, miniatures and an armoury of Rajput weapons.
DAY 07 Jaipur
Morning at leisure. Evening walk through the spice market . Later Optional visit to Jaigarh Fort.
DAY 08 Jaipur – Jodhpur
Today you will drive to Jodhpur.
DAY 09 Jodhpur
This morning you will visit the city of Jodhpur, starting with the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, the setting of Kipling’s The Jungle Book. Once the capital of Marwar dynasty, it was built on a low hill situated in the heart of the Thar Desert and surrounded by nearly 35,000 square miles of sand.
DAY 10 Jodhpur – Ranakpur – Udaipur
Your drive today takes you to Udaipur. Enroute you will stop to visit the magnificent Jain Temple at Ranakpur. The interior architecture of this splendid temple boasts over 200 intricately carved columns.
DAY 11 Udaipur
Your visit of Udaipur begins with the City Palace, the structure of which is comprised of mirrored walls, ivory doors and inlaid marble balconies. You also visit the Sahelion-Ki-Bari gardens and the Jagdish Temple. In the afternoon, you’ll cruise on the placid waters of Lake Pichola, allowing you a vision of the city as it rises dreamily and majestically above the lake.
DAY 12 Udaipur
Day at leisure to enjoy the beautiful hotel and surroundings.
DAY 13 Fly Udaipur – Delhi Departure
Today you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Delhi. On arrival connect your International flight back home.
